Friday Special Blend on CKCU - January 5 2007

The Friday Special Blend ... is a friendly, laid-back mixture of great music, live performances, interviews with filmmakers, musicians, artists and creators of all kinds. It's about the people and events of Ottawa-Gatineau. It's about the human spirit. Add to that some local and world news about social justice and the environment, and you're sure to find something of interest. Plus - as always - BBC News on the Hour.

Tune in to the Friday Special Blend, from 7:00 to 9:15 a.m., at CKCU 93.1 FM in Ottawa or http://www.ckcufm.com/ from anywhere. Tuning in from far away? We'll add you to our listener map -- simply send a note to info@ckcufm.com. Il nous fera un grand plaisir de recevoir vos commentaires, suggestions et idées.

THIS WEEK'S SHOW...
Friday January 5, 2007

Tune in for conversations with singer-songwriter Meredith Luce and visual artist Tony Clark, and featuring music you can hear live throughout Ottawa over the weekend.

Tony Clark (www.staffordstudiosart.com/artists/tony/index.html) is an artist, visual arts instructor and Frida Kahlo fan, and one of the featured artists at Mexicana: a collection of distinctly Mexican items, opening this Friday night at CUBE Gallery (http://www.cubegallery.ca).

Meredith Luce (www.meredithluce.com) is an Ottawa-based singer-songwriter who has shared the evolution of her music with Friday Blend listeners since the very beginning. Meredith will tell us about her new works, upcoming album, and performance this Sunday afternoon at the Black Sheep ( http://www.theblacksheepinn.com/).
